Purpose
This report compares the proportion of students in selected focal groups to the proportion of students from those groups involved in discipline incidents.
The report supports:

A column chart is included to visually compare:

Incident Proportion
for each focal group.
Parameters
School Year
Defines the academic year used for enrollment, program participation, and discipline incidents.
Event Schools
Select one or more schools to include in the report.
Data Included
Student Population
Includes enrolled students within the selected school year and schools.
Discipline Population
Includes discipline incidents associated with enrolled students during the selected school year.

Output Fields
Focal Group
The student subgroup being evaluated.
Student Count
Number of enrolled students in the focal group.
Students Referred
Number of students in the focal group involved in at least one discipline incident.
Student Proportion
Percentage of the total student population represented by the focal group.
Incident Proportion
Percentage of discipline-involved students represented by the focal group.
Business Rules

Students are counted distinctly within each focal group.

Students may appear in multiple focal groups.

Discipline incidents are only counted when the incident date falls within the student’s active program participation dates.
Using the Report

Select School Year and Event Schools.

Run the report.
-
Compare Student Proportion to Incident Proportion.

Review focal groups where incident proportion exceeds student proportion for potential disproportionality concerns.
